ALMORAIMA CENIZA
Straight Babson Egyptian Mare

We first saw Almoraima Ceniza in fall of 1989. She was a frisky black filly set against a backdrop of lovely New York fall foliage. A few years later, with her dark grey coat dappled, we were lucky enough to purchase her. Now just a few years later, she is covered with dense dark speckles, her mane and tail nearing white - A very lovely color! |
| Ceniza is one of three Babson Ibn Saafaddan
daughters. Ibn Saafaddan was a Faddan (*Fadl x Bint Saada) sire line stallion.
Ibn Saafaddan carried 37.5% Faddan and 31% Fay-El-Dine (*Fadl x Bint Serra) blood, which no
doubt contributed to Ibn Saafaddan's long-legged elegance.
Ceniza's pedigree gives her seven lines to Fay-El-Dine (31%) and three crosses to Faddan (31%). Her pedigree includes all the Babson imports with highest percentage currently possible of rare *Bint Saada (12.5%) and second highest possible of *Bint Bint Durra (6.25%) blood. |

An interesting pedigree note is that Ceniza carries no crosses to the prolific Babson sire Ibn Fa-Serr which makes her something of an outcross to most Babson Arabians.
Ceniza has a quiet, calm disposition. She has even nursed foals other than her own. Although Ceniza is not a big mare, her foals have been the tallest and largest both at birth and during their formative years.
