Charabs Sharifa was foaled in Wyoming and came to us as a two year old.
We had been to see her sire, Kamars Sharif, several times over the years. We greatly admired him. He was a smooth, well balanced and gentle athlete. Sharif was owned by Ellie Prince and Dorothy Feldman and spent almost all of his life living at Sodergreen Ranch near Cheyenne Wyoming.
Sodergreen is part of the ranch where Mary O'Hara wrote My Friend Flicka. The landmarks described in the book can be seen while walking the Sodergreen pastures. Imagine looking at shining mares grazing on a hillside and being told "Just over that ridge is the valley were the "Albino" and his herd lived!" It was an experience not to be missed!

Kamars Sharif was well trained in
dressage and was often used as a student
lesson horse. Charabs Sharifa is his only Straight Babson
daughter. Sharifa's dam, Charabs Amurra, is a daughter
of Charab, another rare line in Babson pedigrees. Sharifa's unique pedigree
adds rare and interesting
diversity to our broodmare group.
Sharifa is a kind, quiet and sensible mare. She is very friendly and easy to live with. |

Sharifa's beautiful 2005 chestnut colt by Bedu Sabir, Ashkar el Khebir was the first sireline Khebir St. Babson colt born in 18 years. Sadly he was lost to a opportunistic virus at 10 months. Photos of Ashkar el Khebir

Sharifa's dam Charabs Amurra is one of 3 full sisters and 3 full brothers sired by Charab from Mahroufs Amira. Of the forty foals sired by Charab from 1973 to 1995, these 6 are the only straight Babsons. |
